Storage of Macadamia Oil and Nuts

Proper storage for the macadamia oil and nuts varies some depending on what it is being used for. Due to the high levels of fatty acids found in the nuts it runs the risk of rancidity if left out in the open for too long. If the nuts won’t be used for a while, then vacuum sealed is best and can be left on the shelf in this state. However, if the seal has been broken, then the nuts should be placed in the refrigerator till they will be eaten.
The macadamia oil has more sustainability. At room temperature the macadamia nut oil remains a liquid. Here it could have a shelf life of around 4 months or longer. Alternatively, if the oil were kept in the refrigerator like the nuts, it could last upwards of a year.
